Butter is one of the most eaten foods in the world.
It is known most notably as a spread, it is also used as a condiment on cooked vegetables as well as in cooking such as as baking, pan frying and sauce making.
Butter consists of butterfat, milk proteins and water and is one of the most highly concentrated forms of fluid milk.
It is a solid dairy product that is made by churning fresh or fermented milk or cream so as to separate the butterfat from the buttermilk.
So can gerbils eat butter at all?
Unfortunately they cant eat it.
Gerbils cannot handle dairy foods very well and it will make them sick if they eat it unfortunately.
A food to avoid as far as gerbils are concerned.
