Grass is vegetation that consists typically of short plants that have long, narrow leaves, growing wild or cultivated on lawns and pasture and used as fodder crop.
Grass has been grown as food for domesticated animals for up to 6000 years. Indeed the most important food crops are the food crops wheat, rice and Barley.
There are many different grasses that are seen around the world which have differing textures and height.
So can gerbils eat grass at all?
It’s not a good idea to feed them grass from outside as it may contain unseen pesticides or parasites that could harm the gerbil.
