Honey is a sticky, sweet yellow and brown coloured fluid that is made by bees and other insects from nectar collected from flowers.
It is used for many different purposes, but primarily as a spread.
So can gerbils eat honey at all?
Unfortunately it is far too sweet for them and so they can’t eat it.
They cannot handle the sugar content within it as their stomachs are not designed to deal a lot of it. Honey contains a lot of sugar and so would be painful for them. Their teeth would also suffer from eating too much sugar filled foods.
