It is native to the Old World and is found from Cape Verde and the Canary Islands, Europe across to northern and eastern Africa, the Mediterranean, southwest Asia to southeast.

It is a very popular herb known for its aromatic smell.

You can purchase live mealworms from good pet stores and online and they are ususally a very popular food for reptiles such as bearded dragons and chameleons.
They are only a treat for a gerbil though and shouldn’t be fed as a staple part of their diet.

However, just feed them a few a time as a treat for them.

Don’t feed them live insects which have been found in the wild as you just don’t know what bacteria they may contain and so it is recommended that they are avoided.
