Cheese is a food that is made from the pressed curds of milk. It is firm and elastic or soft and semi-liquid in nature. It is produced in a wide range of flavors, textures, and forms by coagulation of the milk protein casein.
It contains proteins and fat from milk, and uses the milk that comes from buffalo, cows, goats or sheep.
So can gerbils eat cheese?
They can very occasionally in small amounts. Do bear in mind that most cheese are high in fat and so it is not that good for them.
Cut it into small chunks that they can hold comfortably in their paws.
