Nuts are fruits that are composed of hard shells and seeds that are generally edible.
So can gerbils eat nuts?
Yes they can and they very much enjoy eating them.
Nuts in their shells are especially enjoyable for them.
Just make sure that they are not roasted or salted and that no wild nuts are fed to them.
They should only be fed a few at a time, a few times a week as they do contain a lot of fat.
Here are some nuts they might enjoy;
Almonds, Brazil nuts, Cashew nuts, Chestnuts, Hazelnuts, Pecans, Peanuts, Pistachios, Walnuts and Pine nuts.
